Bratislava Train Stations
Since Middle Ages has Bratislava been on the traffic crossroad between Budapest, Vienna, Prague and other cities to the north. Many train stations were built in the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th century to follow the industrial boom. Howener, some were later demolished to give way to the expanding city.
Currently, only the train stations listed below should be of any use to the travellers.
Bratislava Main Train Station is located close to the city centre and serves most of the international traffic as well as provides connections to lot of domestic routes. Take trains to other cities of Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland from here. For further details see Main Train Station guide.
Train Station Petrzalka is located in Bratislava - Petrzalka district and provides direct trains to Vienna, Austria as well as to some other international and domestic destinations. Take trains to Austria and Hungary from here.
Train Station Vinohrady is situated just some five minutes by train to the Main Train Station and handles trains from the north, east and south of Slovakia. Most of the express international trains stop here, except of InterCity (IC) trains that pass through. Take trains to other cities of Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland from here.
Train Station Predmestie is located very close to Vinohrady station. The station had been used mostly for industrial purposes. Nowadays handles only very few of domestic trains. Station should not be required on your way as trains could be taken from the other Bratislava stations.
Train Station Nove Mesto is located in Ruzinov quarter. Trains cover Slovakia mostly, some international lines also stop here. Take trains to other cities of Slovakia and Poland from here.
Train Station Vajnory is located in Bratislava - Vajnory district. Trains from the east of Slovakia stop here. Station handles domestic traffic mostly. Take trains to other cities of Slovakia and Hungary from here.
Train Station Devinska Nova Ves is located in Devinska Nova Ves district close to the Volkswagen factory. Some trains to Austria stop here. Take trains to Austria from here.
Some unused train stops are planned to be reconstructed and used for the inner-city lines in future.
The train schedules can be found here or at Die Bahn, Vlak-Bus and CP.

Lyubka Koleva, one-way bus ticket from Bratislava to Nitra cost about 130 SKK per adult person (= about 4 euro)
you can search your bus/train on www.cp.sk
(in slovak)
fill in this fields:
Odkia = from
Kam = to
datum = date [format DD.MM.2007]
as = time [in 24 hour form]
vyhada = do search
Prchod = time of arrive
Odchod = time of departure
BTW.: officially, you have to be 5 mins before departure on bus stop, but busses can be sometimes delayed [about 5-10 mins but not often]
good luck!
