Josef Lada (1887 – 1957) belongs to the Czech artists, whose artwork is known all over the world. He worked as a painter, illustrator and writer, especially for children’s books. He created a distinctive, immediately easily identifiable style with a subtle, humorous subtext. Famous became also his stylized picturesque views of the Czech, often snow-covered villages. The exhibition will present a broad cross-section of his extensive work and will be a romantic experience not only for children but for adults as well.
