Satelit Gallery of the Slovak Design Centre

In the Satelit gallery

Satelit is a fun and quirky place, sometimes bordering on the offensive. It's the gallery of the Slovak Design Centre, which means that it's a place to show of the work of designers who take common objects and turn them into something that makes you sit up and pay attention.

Satelit is one of several fun design galleries around the city that can be entered free of charge, will make you look at a common object in a different way, and might offer you a chance to buy a uniquely Slovak gift for yourself or someone back home.

A relatively young gallery, it is located in the city center, near Safarikovo Square (Safarikovo Namestie).

Expositions, exhibits and show openings are held there. They show the work of alternative and young artists, as well as art students and less well known artists. Professional seminars, discussions, and workshops are held there as well.

Satelit seeks to map the current happenings on the Slovak scene, and even tries to showcases lesser-known artists.

Satelit is open Tuesday - Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Monday.

Address: Dobrovicova 3, Bratislava
