Raca Vintage 2011 - Grape Harvest & Wine Tasting
Venue: Raca
Date: to - at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Raca is a village at the foot of the Small Carpathian mountains, now a part of Bratislava. It is well known for its wines, notably the red Blaufrankisch.
The grape harvest festival in September is an authentic event with wine, food and performances of major Slovak bands, where you can easily spend a few hours.
It takes place around the centre of Raca, a former village 'annexed' to Bratislava. It is easily reachable by regular trams from the city centre (no. 5, 11) in about 20 minutes.
Burcak (pronnounced boor-chuck) is Slovak for new wine and it flows in abundance at the Raca street fair. In addition to the many small stalls there is official public wine tasting on Friday night and weekend afternoons at the Druzstevny dom Racan.
Music perfromances take place at the German Cultural House and the open air theatre on Friday night and afternoons of both weekend days (from 2 pm). For children there will be an animal farm on weekend afternoons and creative workshops.
We can help with transportation arrangements and arrange a Slovak guide to groups (contact info@bratislavaguide.com).
