The Slovak National Theater will be performing Gounod´s opera – Faust. Tickets range from € 8 to € 35 and they can be purchased at the theatre´s box office. Melodramma in three acts (sung in Italian)
The masterpiece of the French Romantic composer takes a distinct place in the history of the Slovak National Theatre Opera. Its production, directed by Jozef Bednarik and staged on the eve of the Velvet Revolution in 1989 was a first step towards a contemporary, modern concept of musical theatre. In the 90th anniversary season, a production team headed by the brilliant Lithuanian director Gintaras Varnas and the chief conductor of the SND Opera Rastislav Stur, take on this outstanding title once again.
The Slovak National Theatre has box offices at both the New Building (entrance from Olejkarska Street) and Historical Building (entrance from Jesenskeho Street). The box office is always open an hour before the start of each event and half an hour after the start of each event as well as being open year round 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the week, Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to noon.
