Ice-Skating in Bratislava 2011

January 14, 2011, Bratislava (BratislavaGuide.com) - A favorite winter free-time activity, will become even more accessible on Saturday the 15th January 2011.
A new ice-skating rink will be open on Hlavné Námestie (Main square) for the public. Citizens and visitors can enjoy ice-skating for the next 45 days for free, afterward the daily temperature can reach 15ºC which can be dangerous for the ice quality.
The public will have access to the rink daily between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. and there will be a programme organised by the city each weekend, starting on Friday evening and running until Sunday. One can also rent skates for € 2 for 90 minutes, which is also the maximum period of time that you can skate non-stop. Every 90 minutes there will be a technical break for 30 minutes, during which time the staff will care for the ice.
Also in the vicinity of the rink is a place to sharpen skates, security lockers, mobile lavatories and a food tent, where visitors can enjoy traditional meals or hot drinks.
