Dmitri Hvorostovsky Biography
The internationally acclaimed Russian Baritone, was born and studied in Siberia. After winning the prestigious Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, he became popular with his audience for his sense for music and soft voice. His opera debut was in Nice, acting in the Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame Opera. Following that he received numerous offers from renowned international opera houses, such as the Metropolitan Opera of New York, Covent Garden or the Vienna State Opera.
Russia being his motherland, Dmitri has always had a sense of pride in being Russian. He gave a solo concert with and orchestra and chorus in Moscow, he regularly attends festivals in Moscow with his "Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Friends" series. In 2005 he gave a Russia Tour, where he performed for hundreds of thousands of Russians to commemorate the fallen in World War Two.
