All in White: the Bratislava Castle's New Look
For the past few decades the Bratislava castle used to look like a brown upside-down table but the 2009 restoration works brought a new coat of white, along with intense night-time lighting.
The castle, first mentioned in writing in 907, underwent the last major reconstruction in 1953-1968. Current works are scheduled to finish in 2011 or 2012.
