Bus Station
The Bratislava Main Bus Station (Autobusova stanica) is located in the extended center of Bratislava at Mlynske Nivy. It is easily accessible by both buses and trolley buses (202, 205, 206, 208, 210, 21, 25, 50, 70, 78, 88, N61, and N72).
Bus schedules
Upon entering the bus station, departure schedules are located on the left side of the building. If the schedules are too confusing, ask one of the employees in booths on the right side of the building for help.
However, sometimes they have trouble explaining things in English, so the best option is to check the schedules online at this bus schedule site. In the bottom right corner of the website, you can switch to the language to English. This website displays connections to all of Slovakia and major European destinations. Tickets can be bought on-line, upon arriving at the bus line from the drivers, and also in the booths on the right side of the bus station building.
Building
Construction of the bus station took place between 1975-1983. It was officially opened on August 15, 1983. Today, the building contains a restaurant, fast food stands, luggage storage facilities, a post office, newspaper stands, a travel agency, a currency exchange booth, ATM machines, and boutiques.
There is also a special cafe on the first floor of the main hall, which is located inside two old-fashioned buses connected together. Today, the building is preparing for a massive reconstruction project costing about 560,000,€ 000, which makes it the biggest developer project in Central and Eastern Europe.
