Budapest to Bratislava Bus/"Flight" Service Canceled by Malev
A convenient option for getting between the Bratislava and Budapest airports has been canceled. A few websites on the internet listed a daily Bratislava to Budapest "flight" for € 44 that was actually a bus. This was a great deal since trans-Atlantic flights into Budapest can sometimes be hundreds of dollars cheaper than direct flights in Bratislava or Vienna.
The bus service was discontinued some time before January 2011. A member of our staff ran into some trouble when she arrived in Budapest and found out that the bus line had been canceled. Before purchasing tickets from any website that offers Bratislava to Budapest airport to airport flights or buses, we recommend that you confirm the existence of the flight or bus not on the internet, but with a quick call.
As of the time of writing, the same company - Malev continues to offer a bus line from Budapest to the easter Slovak city of Kosice. But still, if you want to use it, it´s best to check if the line exists by calling the Malev 24 hour service center at +36-1-235-3888.
