Museums are Free All Weekend During Bratislava for All

This weekend will mark the eighth time that Bratislava will be hosting the "Bratislava for All" open house event. In the past, this event used to be connected to the day of St. George, when citizens could vote for their representatives and judges, but today it is just a fun weekend to walk through many of the town's museums free of charge.

In fact, in addition to museums, free events will be organized for the public. Below are a few interesting events.

Thursday, April 14, 2011

8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Bratislava Book Fair, Klariska 16, in the courtyard

7 p.m. Slovakia Cantat 2011, Opening Concert, Franciscan Square


Historical trams and buses will be making tours of the broader Bratislava centerFriday, April 15, 2011

8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Bratislava Book Fair, Klariska 16, in the courtyard

9.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. Slovakia Cantat 2011 - International choir festival, Moyzes Hall

10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Slovenska Cipka - Lacing craft exhibition, Primatial Palace

3.30 p.m. Bratislava through the eyes of Karl Frech - Exhibit Opening, Palffy Palace


Events will take place for kids, seniors, as well as adultsSaturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17, 2011

9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Open House at the Mayor's Office - Primatial Palace

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Bratislava tastes good - Music, Traditional Snacks - Primatial Palace CourtyardOnly on Saturday!

10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Slovenska Cipka - Lacing craft exhibition, Primatial Palace

10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Museums of Bratislava - all city museums open free of charge. This includes the Interior Decoration Museum, Museum of Weaponry, Pharmacy museum, Museum of Clocks, Devin Castle, Roman Gerulata settlement, and many more.

Tour-buses, Guided Tours, Tour-boat - through out the day free of charge

Sport venues - Ice rink Dubravka (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.), Pasienky swimming pool (10 a.m. - 8 p.m.) - through out the day free of charge


The dinopark in the ZOO will be open from early morning until the evening, as well as the ZOO and the Botanical GardenNature - Zoo (9 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Botanical Garden (9 a.m. - 6 p.m.), Zelezna Studnicka (11 a.m. - 7 p.m.) - throughout the day free of charge
