8th International Film Festival Bratislava Awards

Bratislava, December 9, 2006 (BratislavaGuide.com) - Japanese-Singaporean movie 4:30 by the director Royston Tan won the Grand Prix for the Best Film at the 8th International Film Festival Bratislava in its main section, the International Competition of First and Second Films. The jury chose Tan's movie from the 19 nominated movies. The best actress award went to Hermila Guedes for her role in the movie Suely in the Sky and Antoni Pawlicki won the best actor award for the role of Wojtek in Polish film Retrieval. This film also won the prize of spectators and the jury of movie journalists FIPRESCI. Belgian-German movie Khadak of the directors Peter Brosnens and Jessica Woodworth was awarded a special mention by the Ecumenical Jury. Czech actor Jan Triska was awarded the Award for Life-Time Achievement.

Over 23,000 spectators visited International Film Festival Bratislava 2006 at the Aupark Shopping Mall. The total number of movies screened reached 177 movies.
