2011 IIHF World Championship Confirms Teams Playing in Bratislava
Bratislava, May 26, 2010 (BratislavaGuide.com) - The IIHF World Championship organising committee confirmed on Tuesday that groups A and D would play the preliminary round in Bratislava during the 2011 World Ice Hockey Championships in Slovakia.
In Bratislava, the Championship will be played at the Ondrej Nepela Stadium.
Group A includes Russia, Slovakia, Germany and Slovenia. Group D is composed of Finland, Czech Republic, Latvia and Denmark.
Matches in Bratislava will be played at the Ondrej Nepela Stadium currently undergoing expansion to just short of 11,000 seats.
Groups B and C will play the preliminary round in Kosice, in Eastern Slovakia, some 400 km from Bratislava.
